A downloadable game for Windows

Disclaimer:

This game features (or will feature) dark themes including topics about depression and suicide.

This is an early alpha build of the game, most of what you see (if not, all) is subject to change. Once a complete demo is finished, it will be reuploaded. As it stands, the project is held up with gum and toothpicks, so I’ll likely end up rewriting everything from scratch.

Summary:

You play as a beginning game developer going about their life. After work each day, the developer sits down and begins working on their game, which you (the player) then get to play.

The game is split into two sections: the “Home” section, and the “Play test” section.

There is currently only one iteration of the loop that has been implemented.

Planned features:

Many features had to be cut for the release of this alpha build due to time constraint. Below is a list of planned features that should (hopefully) be included in the finished project.

The full game will include 10 days, each split into two sections, the “Home” and “Play test.” The demo for the game, whenever that releases, will have two (maybe three) of the ten days available to play. There is currently no plan on whether to make the full game free or not.

The finished project will include improved graphics, more interactable elements, improvements to the mechanics, more story, and larger maps.

Q/A:

When will the full game be released?

When it's done (Insert Duke Nukem Forever joke here).

What inspired this game?

P.T., Inception, American Mc'gee's Alice.

The theme of the game jam sparked the idea (which is a very me idea to have) to make a meta commentary on learning game development, and from there, DoodBot and I built upon the concept.

What was most difficult about making this project?

Juggling work, activities at home, and the development of this project, all at once.

Who are you, and why do I care about this?

I don't know, you're the one reading it.

I cannot guarantee the project will run properly. As far as I know, you need all three files to run it.
